SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA: The Anderson High School Symphony Orchestra is comprised of advanced students in grades 9-12.  This ensemble meets each day for 50 minutes and gives public performances several times per year. Twice a week this ensemble joins together with select AHS wind students to form a full Symphony Orchestra.  This group participates each year in the State Orchestra and recenlty travel to NYC to perform on the stage of Carnegie Hall.  The Symphony Orchestra has performed at Disney World in Orlando, Florida; in New York City; at the American String Teacher Association’s 2006 National Orchestra Festival where the group received straight superior ratings; as well as at OMEA State Adjudicate Events.  AHS Symphony Orchestra has also participated twice at the National Orchestra Cup held at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center in 2007 and most recently in 2009, and in both performances was awarded First Runner Up.
